22+13k gold leaf, Graphite, rabbit skin glue on panel
Ghostly peripheral iterations of lace in contrasting materials; a redrawing, refiguring, re-envisioning, re-experiencing, a hard metallic drawing of a soft tensile lace. These works are created with graphite and rabbit skin glue heated and painted in many layers, water gilded with 13.25 or 22k vintage/inherited gold leaf. The images are then hand-drawn using a pointed agate burnisher, the final surface is burnished with a dog tooth burnisher. All images taken from the Lace Archive.
